Descrybe User Guide
Start with the right Descrybe workflow
This guide introduces the main Descrybe workflows and points you to the right page for Legal Engine, Platform, research, review, search, and setup.
User guide
Start here
Descrybe has two main surfaces: Descrybe Legal Engine for using Descrybe legal research tools inside supported AI assistants, and Descrybe Platform for working directly in the Descrybe web app.
You do not need to choose only one forever. Some users start in an assistant with Legal Engine, some use the platform for deeper workspace-based research and brief review, and some use both depending on the task.
Plans and access
There are two subscription options: a Legal Engine plan for using Descrybe inside supported AI assistants, and a Full Platform plan for guided research, brief checking, focused search, and source review in Descrybe with Legal Engine access included.
Descrybe Legal Engine plan ($25/month)
This gives you access to Descrybe Legal Engine inside supported AI assistants and apps such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Your research workflow stays in the assistant: the assistant asks Descrybe Legal Engine for legal data and uses that data in the conversation. This plan does not include Descrybe Platform tools such as DescrybeLM Research, Descrybe Review, or the web search workspace.
Full Platform plan ($50/month)
This gives you full access to Descrybe Platform, including DescrybeLM Research, Descrybe Review, focused case and source-law search, saved work, and direct source review. It also includes Descrybe Legal Engine access inside supported AI assistants.
No separate platform-only plan
There is not a separate Descrybe Platform plan without Legal Engine access. If you want guided research, brief checking, focused search, saved work, or direct source review in Descrybe, choose the Full Platform plan. Legal Engine access is included whether or not you choose to use an AI assistant.
- Choose Full Platform if you want DescrybeLM Research, Descrybe Review, focused search, saved work, or direct source review.
- Choose Legal Engine if you only want to use Descrybe inside supported AI assistants.
- You can switch plans later if your workflow changes.
