Descrybe Brings Legal Research and Intelligence to Microsoft 365 Copilot

Descrybe today announced that Descrybe Legal Engine is available within the Microsoft 365 Copilot ecosystem, giving organizations a new way to bring specialized legal research and intelligence directly into the AI tools their teams already use.

Microsoft highlighted Descrybe Legal Engine in its August 31, 2026 What’s New in Microsoft Copilot announcement as one of six new Legal Services offerings, alongside iManage Work, Boardwise, Harvey, Relativity and Everlaw. The announcement was part of Microsoft’s continued expansion of the Copilot ecosystem with connectors and plugins that bring domain-specific knowledge and business data into everyday AI workflows.

Microsoft lists Descrybe Legal Engine in its Microsoft-built connectors gallery with Microsoft as the publisher. As a Microsoft-published federated connector, Descrybe is enabled by default for Microsoft 365 tenants unless administrators disable it. Users can find Descrybe directly in Copilot’s Sources menu and connect without manually configuring an MCP connection.

Descrybe Legal Engine also works with Microsoft Copilot Cowork, enabling users to move from legal research to work product within a single Microsoft 365 workflow. Cowork can conduct legal research using Descrybe Legal Engine and then use the results to create a Microsoft Word document for review.

Descrybe Legal Engine gives AI systems direct access to Descrybe’s legal research infrastructure, which combines extensive U.S. primary-law coverage with structured legal intelligence designed to help identify not simply what authority exists, but which authority matters for the question at hand.

That distinction is central to Descrybe’s approach to AI-enabled legal research. Rather than treating legal information as an undifferentiated body of text, Descrybe structures relationships among cases, citations, treatments, courts and legal issues so AI systems can retrieve and work with legal authority more intelligently and efficiently.

The Microsoft 365 Copilot integration advances Descrybe’s strategy of making its legal intelligence available across the AI ecosystem rather than requiring legal professionals to adopt a single proprietary AI interface. Descrybe Legal Engine is also available through integrations and connectors for other major AI platforms, including Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity, enabling users and organizations to bring the same underlying legal research capabilities into multiple workflows.
